The aim of this workshop was to facilitate Knowledge Exchange between academics working in the area of Discrete Geometry/Geometric Rigidity/Graphic Statics and industry professionals who have an interest in the design and analysis of rigid and flexible structures, particularly in the field of structural engineering. Topics included:

  • Methods from Graphic Statics
  • Discrete Geometry and Geometric Rigidity in Architecture and Engineering
  • Design of material-efficient structures (e.g. gridshells, cable nets)
  • Mechanisms, tensegrities, origami-based structures
  • Computational methods

The focus was on open questions, discussions and collaborations.

This workshop was supported by SOM.
