The Knowledge Exchange Catalyst programme ran over two rounds and has supported 14 projects, allowing academic mathematical scientists to engage in direct collaboration with external partners from industry, the public sector or the third sector. The support provided by the ICMS allowed academics to devote 30-100% of their time to a knowledge exchange project for 6-12 months, offering an opportunity for both new and established researchers to develop a new KE partnership, build on an existing relationship or generate impact from previous research.
In the first round, the ICMS was delighted to support seven projects at institutions across the UK spanning different areas of the mathematical sciences with applications in a variety of sectors.

In the second round, the ICMS is delighted to support seven academics who are working in partnership with a range of external partners. All projects align with the overarching theme of the Mathematics for Humanity programme, by endeavouring to contribute to the betterment of humanity and address positive societal change.
