Mapping class groups of non-simply-connected 4-manifolds

The workshop will bring together leading experts in the study of symmetries of 4-manifolds. It aims to stimulate new collaborations in mapping class groups of non-simply-connected 4-manifolds in particular, with a bias towards algebraic, homotopy theoretic, and geometric approaches.

The programme will consist of research talks in the mornings, followed by expository talks and discussion groups in the afternoon. These will focus on three main topics: (1) Homotopy classification; (2) Homotopy automorphisms and homotopy mapping class groups; (3) Pseudo-isotopies.
