This workshop brought together leading experts from across the field of Calculus of Variations to exchange the latest research breakthroughs, to discuss progress on old problems, and to take stock of the current state of the field with a view to its future development. A special aspect of the workshop was the celebration of Jan Kristensen’s academic life, whose seminal contributions over the last decades have shaped many aspects of the field, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
