The workshop at ICMS, Edinburgh, on connections between commutative and non-commutative harmonic analysis proved to be highly valuable for researchers working in non-commutative ergodic theory and non-commutative harmonic analysis. Several of the talks were truly motivating and inspiring, and I have gained insights into many new research topics for future exploration.

This workshop aimed to gather senior and early career researchers working on commutative and non-commutative harmonic analysis. These fields share deep connections but their communities rarely have the opportunity to meet at conferences of this scale. It created a privileged environment to communicate recent advances and share expertise.

The workshop was centered around four topics: matrix weights, Fourier multipliers on non-abelian groups, vector-valued harmonic analysis, and martingale-related techniques. The programme started with four plenary mini-courses, followed by more specialised talks. Contributed talks and posters from researchers in the early stages of their career were also included.
